SNL and Sarah Huckabee Sanders Portrayal - Offensive and Repulsive

C'mon SNL - You Folks Are Better Than This

The SNL skit with a cast member playing substitute Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders made fun of her weight.  This was uncalled for.  It was not funny.  It was pathetic.  It was not satire.  It was cruel.  It was out of place.

Ms. Sanders is the daughter of former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.  Mr. Huckabee has a weight problem.  At one time, believe it or not, he used his struggle with his weight to highlight the role of government in promoting nutrition and good health.  This was when he was a partially compassionate person, a person who condemned Mitt Romney for Mitt's cruel policy on immigrants.

Of course that Huckabee has been long gone from the national stage and he has reverted to a cruel and bitter conservative loser.  But his weight and the weight of his daughter are not issues, are not subjects of redicule and to joke about them is not funny but a cheap attempt at humor.

SNL is brilliant, and they need to remember what is funny and what is not.
