Why the Creation of 20 Jobs Gets More Attention Than Other News

The Wall Street Journal likes to pretend that its news division is independent of its ultra right wing editorial sections.  But remember, the Journal is owned by Fox folks, who see their mission in journalism not as reporting the news but as using the selective editing of the news to influence political opinion.  So silently and slowly the news folks are being co-opted.  Here's a story about Hasbro and Play Doh.

Stop the Presses, 20 Whole Jobs are Being Created

Play-Doh will soon be squeezed out of a factory in the U.S. again, as Hasbro Inc. brings manufacturing of the popular moldable clay back to America for the first time in years.

Hasbro said it is working with a manufacturing partner to make Play-Doh at a facility in East Longmeadow, Mass., starting in the second half of 2018. Although the preschool clay was invented in Cincinnati in the 1950s, it hasn’t been made in the U.S. since 2004.

So why does this story get 1st page Section B coverage? It ain't because of the jobs being created.

Hasbro said Cartamundi plans to hire an additional 20 employees to support Play-Doh production in East Longmeadow, bringing the total number of workers at the facility to 480, including temporary staff. Cartamundi didn’t respond to a request for comment.

No the reason is political. Trumpet is taking credit for bringing jobs back to America. So the superficial reading of this story supports the Trumpster and gives the false impression that a major jobs growth is coming by bringing production from overseas and that is why it gets priminence in the WSJ. Pretty disgusting.
